The town of Whitstable has grown to be the seaside pearl of Kent in recent years, partly due to their infamous oysters and Oyster Festival. At the core, is a place with a strong arts culture where small, local businesses thrive.
With a population as of 2011, of 32,100, Whitstable really is a growing hub of bohemian charm that many love to frequent for holiday or day trips, but is equally loved by locals.

In 2020, Compare My Move voted Whitstable the best coastal location to move in the UK. Considerations such as average house prices, beach ratings, the weather and the quality of the beach water were all factored. It isn't confusing to see why then, it has become such a popular town to buy a property.
Latest figures show the average house price in Whitstable to be £394,403, making it the highest in Kent.
Houses here vary in style and size. From large detached or bungalows, to the quaint terraced houses found nearer to the town, there is something to suit everybody, and prices will and do vary.
Over the last 10 years, there have been a few new housing developments being built around the town and towards the old Thanet Way, making way for families and professionals to buy and live amongst the pleasant atmosphere.
Transport
Whitstable is home to a train station that is within good walking distance to the town and seafront. It has direct links to both Thanet and London, making it a great place to set up home and commute. It takes just over an hour to get into London Victoria.
With great bus links, Whitstable also runs regular Stagecoach transport to Canterbury and Herne Bay and further afield towards Faversham and Thanet.
The roads in and out of Whitstable are very accessible, with Canterbury being just a 15 minute drive away. It is also the same distance to reach the M2 which takes you towards Dover or London. If heading east, you can also reach Thanet within 30 minutes.

There is always somewhere to meander, somewhere to meet for coffee, or an inspiring walk to be had in Whitstable, including hand-crafted and premium goods and fine art along the Harbour Market.
