How to market and successfully sell a beautiful period home.
After almost a year on the market with two previous agents, the owners approached us looking for a different result. What did we do differently?
Jasmine Cottage is a charming and beautifully presented, detached period home dating back to the 1850’s. The owners had refurbished the property to a high standard, blending modern comforts with original features. Due to a relocation for work, the owners were looking to sell their family home.
Initially they instructed an online agent to market their property as it was a more budget friendly option, unfortunately in the six months they marketed the property they failed to find a buyer. They then switched to a ‘premium’ agent in the hope of finding a buyer, but they were still unsuccessful after another four months.
After taking a few months break off the market the owners approached Sandersons to market their property. We believed that neither agent captured the beauty of this location and the interiors of this property. Our photographer delivered a mix of photographs to show off the space on offer, whilst also highlighting the period features of the property. On the day of the shoot the weather wasn’t the best so they also returned on a sunny day, at a time when the lighting on the property was best to re-shoot the externals. We also produced a short video for social media to help promote the property to an audience outside of the property portals. Our care and attention to the details paid off and we found a buyer for the property in a few months.
Our dedicated in-house sales progression team were able to complete on the sale just 9 weeks after the offer was accepted. This is a testament to how effective having a proactive member of the team to push the sale through can be.
The buyer was kind enough to leave us a review on google.
'Sandersons Canterbury are superb. I have been very impressed by the whole team, especially Antonia, Brett and Heidi who we dealt with. The team are ultra efficient and professional, whilst always keeping us informed along the way of the sales process. Would recommend highly.' ★★★★★
