SEASIDE VS COUNTRYSIDE: Which would you go for??

SEASIDE VS COUNTRYSIDE: Which would you go for??

Living in Kent has the huge advantages of both seaside towns and countryside villages. Every town in Kent is surrounded by villages and miles of beautiful countryside. Not only that, but there is also the mere 350 miles of stunning coastline to enjoy.

Having lived in Kent for nearly 40 years, I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I have been for my surroundings. Particularly over the last 4 months where we have all experienced the unimaginable. At times when we were restricted to just one hour of outdoor exercise per day, living in the countryside was an absolute godsend. Once the restrictions were lifted slightly and we were able to travel a short distance to then carry out our exercise, my children and I were back to spending our time at the gorgeous sandy beaches that Kent has to offer.

Working for Sandersons UK gives me the fabulous opportunity to discover parts of Kent that might have remained hidden to me. I am sure I am not the only one who is guilty of sometimes living in my bubble and getting caught up in the day to day/week to week same old routine.

Wherever you decide to live in Kent, you will never be far away from a safe and secure country walk or a clean sandy beach. You will also never be too far from a train station, many with direct lines into London. In particular, the HS1 link that runs from Ashford International train station that gets you into London St Pancras in just 36 minutes. This all contributes to making Kent the perfect place to live, not only for those wishing to enjoy the serenity of the sea and peacefulness of the countryside but also for those who still need to commute into London for either work or socialising.

We sell all over Kent, so for more information on any of the properties that we are currently marketing OR even if you would just like to discuss the different areas that Kent has to offer then please contact us.

Every estate agent promises it. Every valuation appointment includes it. And every seller and landlord has heard it so often that it becomes background noise. The phrase is simple: “We work in your best interests.” But what does that really look like in practice?

Nestled between ancient woodland, rolling farmland, and timeless villages, the Weald of Kent has long been a place where homes tell stories. Each one of these stories reveal the truth what goes into achieving a successful sale.

If you are a company director or a Person with Significant Control (PSC), including a volunteer director of a residential management company, there is now a clear and non-negotiable deadline you need to be aware of.

We've hit the ground running in 2026 with plenty of sales and new listings across all offices. Here's our monthly roundup of some of our favourite properties to come to the market in January.
