Thank you for helping us save 282,813 pages of paper

As a forward thinking agent always embracing new technology we are always keen to seek ways to lower our carbon footprint. We were early adopters of electronic signing for our tenancy agreements via Docusign which cut our need to print multiple copies of these lengthy documents quite significantly.

Our signing processes are now entirely electronic so we are delighted to be able to share the impact that this change alone has had on the environment. We use electronic signing for landlord, vendor and maintenance contractor contracts; tenancy agreements, signing off block management accounts, employee contracts and more.

We would also like to thank our customers for embracing our technological advances and using our paperless systems to contribute towards the environmental savings highlighted below.

"Our calculations for environmental impact associated with reduced paper use are based on your account’s use of DocuSign.
We estimate the number of pieces of paper saved by looking at three factors:
  • Number of envelopes sent
  • Number of pages per envelope
  • Number of recipients per envelope
Our model assumes that each recipient of a document would print it once, on average, and that the paper used would contain 10% recycled content.
Some environmental impact estimates were made using the Environmental Paper Network Paper Calculator Version 4.0. You can find more information at www.papercalculator.org."

Other steps to lower our carbon footprint

Detailed marketing particulars- Our in-house professional photographers take multiple, high quality photographs of a property we are advertising. This includes drone images and location images to make it easier for prospective buyers/tenants to make a decision on whether a property is suitable. We also show video walkthroughs internally and externally go give a realistic feel for the property filmed in high quality. This avoids wasted journeys to a property they would have known is unsuitable had the particulars been less detailed. E.g. property is on a busy road and they have cats, garage not big enough for their car which floorpan showed.

Electronic brochures- Our properties are presented so well online with everything you need, we no longer need to print brochures and marketing details.

Diary management- We try to block book viewings together for properties only accessible by car to minimise the need for multiple visits. We also aim to schedule appointments close by to minimise travel time by car.

Remote valuations- We can conduct valuation appointments via video call and also have an online valuation which tool enables the client to upload photos and videos to provide more detailed information about the property than the typical instant online versions. A marketing report is then issued by one of Sandersons experienced listers. Click here to request a remote valuation

What can you do to reduce the amount of printing?

Be smart about your paper use: Use recycled or forest-certified paper. Before printing, ask yourself whether it's really necessary. If you print, use two sides, reduce margins and font size. When you're discarding paper, recycle. For personal use, look at products like Adobe and for business try Docusign.

Here's our monthly round up of our favourite properties to come to the market in November.

The Canterbury Lettings team have once again started as they mean to go on by letting 2/3 of our entire student property portfolio within the first month of going live.

The "State of the Lettings Industry Report 2024" by Goodlord found that many landlords are concerned about the impending Renters' Rights Bill and the impact the abolishment of Section 21 notices and immediate transition to periodic terms for all tenancies could mean for their investment.

The team enjoyed an evening out on the town to watch the Christmas light switch on & parade. The parade ended in the cathedral grounds which is hosting a market over the festive period.
